What an amazing meal we have just had in Babylon! The quality of the ingredients and the cooking are spot on. Excellent service too. Super friendly and very attentive. This restaurant does everything so right. The lentil soup and bread and dips to start were amazing. The squid starter had a really light batter that was so nice. For mains we had sea bass and a lamb dish and they were incredible! Even the side salad was delicious! Tonight was our first visit and we will definitely be returning and telling all our friends!- Meal type

Delicious food with generous portions and fair prices! I was really impressed by how satisfying everything was. On top of that, the staff were super friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better (and we even got a free dessert!). Definitely a must-try when you’re in Exeter! My second times btw 😍

Came across Babylon while walking along South Street, had no booking and honestly didn't know what to expect. As we walked in, the host was very accommodating and within 10 minutes we were at your table. The place was busy. We ordered the lamb chops and the burger. The lamb was out of this world, very tasty and cooked to perfection. Burger was delicious. We were also offered Lentils soup, Hummus and Haydari on the house. All of the starters were as equally delicious. Price wise, excellent value for money. I will definitely go back before leaving Exeter. Highly recommended- Meal type

A gorgeous local spot. Incredibly kind and attentive staff, thank you to Berk who served us. Food was delicious, fresh and clearly made with love. Fabulous prices too. We also enjoyed some complimentary lentil soup as we were waiting for our main food order. Thank you! Would highly recommend.

A party of 13 of us booked Babylon on Saturday by our cousin who is a regular diner here, and we could not have been happier with the polite, friendly, attentive service and quality of our meals.
I had the sea bass which was served with a wonderfully fresh salad, whilst the other family members went for the more traditional kebabs. The dishes were generously proportioned and all served at the same time which is no easy feat. The rice was nice and fluffy, and kebabs nice and moist. All in all, a very satisfying meal in pleasant surroundings. Very much recommended!- Meal type

We came here last min for my husbands birthday while we were on holiday in Devon. We had our three children with us. There is something on the menu for everyone.
The service was amazing and they were very knowledgeable about allergies and what each dish contained. I’d highly recommend to anyone that needs to be gluten free.
The food was outstanding. They have authentic Turkish food and drink which was lovely as most Turkish restaurants we’ve tried end up being a kebab shop. This was the real deal. They provide extra / side dishes such as lentil soup , bread and dips to go with your meal. The restaurant is clean and looks lovely. We would recommend them to anyone. Definitely go if you can.- Meal type

If you want authentic Turkish cuisine and you are in Exeter, you have to go to "BABYLON" in South Street. The service was 11 out of 10. The spicing on the food was amazing, cooked to perfection, eaten with total enjoyment. It was if we had been transported to Turkey. We were presented with Lentil Soup, then 3 dips + flat bread (on the house) We had chosen the Seafood Sharer and the Mixed Grill for 2 which was over indulgent, or eyes bigger than out tums, thankfully we were able to take home what we didn't eat. Brilliant value for money. Seriously Recommended.- Food

Burk whom served me, was great at making sure we were taken care of. Also the food was exceptional, especially the lamb chops and starters. They catered for 13 of us last minute and luckily we booked it just in time before the place got busy. Overall would definitely recommend and come back again!

The moment we walked in, the waiter was brilliant, he put us at a table by the front door, however mum was cold, so he instantly moved us in, when we mentioned it was my Mother’s birthday he gave us free lentil soup and 1/2 priced cold and hot mezze. We had the Babylon special, which was the main meal. It was amazing. For the price, it’s definitely worth it, I think it would be a great family dinner, music is authentic and really nice. All the photos covered a family of 4 and we had loads left; that’s my lunch sorted for tomorrow. 🤣
Another great meal.- Meal type

The staff are incredibly welcoming, and the atmosphere is vibrant yet cozy. Unlike other spots, parking here wasn’t an issue, which made the experience even better. Lovely restaurant, with some of the most welcoming hosts I’ve ever encountered! It was our first visit, and we ordered take out. I went for the Chicken Shish Adana combo and my partner had the chicken tikka shish. We also ordered some chips, and the owners kindly popped in a free portion of Hummus and a yoghurt & dill sauce (no idea what it’s called!), oh and we had a side salad with an amazing dressing!
Chips were probably a step too far as there was so much food, they serve the kebabs with the bread, then rice, and the meat on top - definitely a new style for me.
Meat was perfectly grilled with a tasty sear, and it’s obvious they source from quality suppliers.
Highly recommended, going for the chicken wings next time - hopefully they have a house chili sauce for dipping!- Meal type

Very good service. Food is very tasty. We ordered mixed grill for one and chefs salad with falafel. Portion size very generous. Also lentil soup that comes free as a starter is a pleasant surprise. We could not finish the food fully, so they kindly provided us a takeaway box as well. Value for the money. Highly recommended if you’re after Turkish food.

What a delightful dinner stop we had at Babylon, Exeter, on our journey home to Birmingham from Newquay! We're big fans of Turkish cuisine, and our boys (7 and 9) are always up for an adventure, so this was a perfect choice.
From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. Burk (hope I spelled that right!) greeted us with a warm smile and promptly showed us to our table – it's always a good sign when they're expecting you! The menu was a treasure trove of deliciousness, and we decided to go big with the Babylon special platter, which came with a lovely cold meze. Happy days indeed!
Then came the first pleasant surprise: complimentary lentil soups for all four of us! They were absolutely delicious and set a wonderful tone for the meal. Our starters arrived right on cue, and soon after, the main event followed. The platter looked and smelled incredible, and let me tell you, it tasted even better! So much meat, so perfectly cooked – we even had enough leftovers to box up for lunch the next day. Score!
Now, for a couple of friendly suggestions to make an already great experience even better. When those tasty starters arrive, a few side plates would be super handy. And if the warm bread and fresh salad could make their grand entrance with the starters, that would be ideal. Also, for the platter, it would be awesome to have a choice of rices – maybe traditional Turkish rice or even some bulgur. The biryani, while tasty, felt a little out of place with all that delicious Turkish goodness. Definitely, more bulgur please!
We rounded off our meal with Turkish tea and Sutlac, which our boys adore. The only tiny hiccup was the lack of cinnamon, but honestly, it was still wonderfully tasty.
Overall, the place was spotless, including the restrooms (always a good sign!). The food was incredibly flavorful, and Burk's service was top-notch. He was not only efficient but also had a fantastic way with customers – a real star! We've already decided that Babylon, Exeter, will be a definite contender for our annual Newquay trip next year. It certainly outshone our dining experience in Exeter from last year!- Meal type
